Kismet’s Bill Graff Boards Guangzhou Documentary Festival
May 5, 2015, New York, NY – China’s Guangzhou International Documentary Festival has named Florida-based media exec Bill Graff as regional coordinator for the Americas for its 2015 edition.
The 12-year-old festival includes such programs as the Golden Kapok Awards Competition and DocuMart pitching event, and in 2014 received 3,054 entries from 85 countries and regions.
In the role, Graff – who previously served as a programming executive for Discovery Networks and BBC Worldwide and is now a partner with Kismet Media Group – is to identify North American and South American producers, buyers and commissioning editors of documentary and factual television to participate in this year’s festival.
He is also tasked with bringing exhibitors from the region to Guangzhou to bolster relationships with Chinese filmmakers and commissioning editors. Graff will also work with documentarians from the Americas to bring their work to the festival, and raise awareness of the event.
The Guangzhou International Documentary Festival is to be held in early December in the Guangzhou Library.
